Leave Your Passports at Home

Why go abroad when you can have an amazing holiday right here, in the UK!

From glamping to caravans, boutique hotels and B&B’s, there’s so much on offer in the beautiful Northern countryside.

These days UK holidays are becoming more popular, the same dingy chalets and overly enthusiastic people in blue coats are a thing of the past. Holiday facilities in the UK are fast becoming much more glamorous and highly sought after.

Glamping is a recently coined term, which basically means you get to sleep under the stars and enjoy getting back-to-nature without the bugs, the cold and the rain. We all know the UK doesn’t boast beautiful sunshine all the time which means trying to sleep in a soggy sleeping bag makes it harder to enjoy the charm of camping.

Glamping ranges from tipis, safari tents, bell tents, airstream caravans, log cabins and camping pods. Most camping pods and bell tents contain airbeds, bedding, towels, cooking equipment and on-site hot showers! Camping pods have all the mod-cons, with power sockets for your hair dryer or phone charger, stoves and even a king sized bed.

Now you can even go glamping at your own wedding or festival, with mobile tents being set up in your honour with all the latest luxury, some of them are better than a hotel and much comfier too.

However, if you like having your head resting on a five star pillow, there’s nothing like a beautiful, boutique hotel in the middle of a busy city, for night life seekers or the epic countryside, for those chasing that breathtaking view.

Boutique hotels can be beautiful but some of them can also be weird, with so many different themes you could end up staying in a Viking retreat! There is an array of hotels with over the top glamour or medieval furnishings, circus themes and even witchcraft themes for
those that have always dreamed of staying at Hogwarts or journeying back to the Pendle Witches. There are so many, weird, wacky and wonderful boutique hotels in the UK to chose from. Ever fancied staying in an old railway station and lodging in a converted carriage?
Me neither… but the point is, you can.

Campervans and caravans are another great holiday treat, with modern campervan’s leaving behind their cramped, yet quirky VW predecessors. Campervans and static caravans can often rival our own homes for space and comfort. Finding the perfect destination to
pitch up is easy too with hundreds of websites dedicated to helping you find that perfect UK destination.

Many bed and breakfasts are also getting into the spirit of the quirky holiday. Not just tea cosy’s and doily’s, from sleeping on a waterbed in a windmill in Bradford to a converted cowshed in East Sussex, you’re not going to struggle to find a truly unique B&B. Wherever you chose to stay in the UK, be sure to know that nowadays there really is nothing like holidaying back home.
